Grading and I

I was grading papers all evening! It is really amazing that most of students do not know how to use proper APA style format, and students use too many quote! Some students quoted entire paragraph and didn’t cite at all! So plagiarism! I hope they know plagiarism is automatic “F.” It is fun to read well written papers, but it is soooo painful to read sucky papers. I am pretty sure my papers were sucky when I was undergrad… Eh. I still have 30 papers to grade…

I know so well how you feel. Last term, I had a handful of people plagiarise. Some knew they'd done wrong and worked with me to fix it while others didn't. Quite a few dropped my class. It's really awful. You know they'll make the same mistake in another class and the odds are it'll be even worse for them. Ugh.

Classes start next week! My syllabus is all revised and ready to go. Cannot believe how ready i am.

You are ready for the next semester? Oh, that's good. I am not! The prof and I need to revise everything! We are adding lab section, so that would be extra work for me... But, I am getting paid for doing that, so no complain. Plagiarism is really really suck. It sucks because it involves lots of work! We have to invite students who did to the office and ask why they did it, and we have to write up the report, then, we need to report to the student conduct office. Then, students will get a mail from the university if they want to contest about F, they can. And if they do, well, more work... Seriously, it is so not worth it!
