It was so hard to wake up in this morning. Yesterday was Jill’s birthday, so we went to Cheesecake factory for the dinner. Well, actually, I didn’t know it was her birthday, so I went to Urban Outfitters before the dinner and got a little gift for her. Jill and other gangs had a class after that, but she told me they were going out after the class and I should come too. I didn’t have a class, so I went back my apt and working on my paper. Of course, I did go out and had some drinks at the bar. However, I didn’t drink that much, well I think I couldn’t drink that much cos I got really tired before I got drunk. Since Jeff was drinking, it was all good! I had never seen him drunk before, so it was very entertaining to see him drunk. I only had one martini and one miller lite, but when I got back my room, I realized I spend a lot there..hmmm, how did it happen? Well, actually, the waitress was too drunk to do the tab, so we were doing it for her (yeah, it was crazy). Then, we noticed that we didn’t pay tip (well, only $3 over $140 tab) which wasn’t good. But, most of guys were left, and I was the only one had cash. I ended up paying tips + beers for ladies + cab. Nooooooo! Oh well, I was glad I did bring plenty of cash cos I kinda knew this would happen. I wish I could drink more, but I had to work from 9am today, so I couldn’t get drunk.

Today, people working at the office were kinda hostile. Well, I must say hostile toward Dave! Poor Dave, he was just attacked by everyone whenever he said something. Since he cannot shut his mouth, he kept talking and he kept being attacked, verbally, of course. When Dave and I went to the Business school to pick up some mails, we stopped by at Jimmy Jones cos I was hungry. I ordered No. 13 with wheat bread. However, when we got back to the office, the sandwich I got was No. 6 without avocado! No avocado! Nonsense! So, I took sandwich back to the store and exchanged it. However, the sandwich I got was some kinda ham sandwich! Ridiculous!! So, I had to go back there twice to get my sandwich. When I went back there for second time, they were like “what’s now!” Excuse me Mr. Sandwich man, I was just there to get sandwich I was deserved to have! I am never gonna go to Jimmy Jones again.

I am not sure if you know this, but I do not like writing English. Seriously, I don’t. I even don’t like writing Japanese neither. So, why am I keeping blog for past couple years? Hmmmm, that’s something I do not know.

Since I don’t like writing, today was very painful day for me. I am having research paper due on next Tuesday and I hadn’t started yet. Well, I kinda forgot about the due day. I knew what I wanan write about, so it wasn’t hard to get started. However, I realized I need coupe books which fucking Loyola library doesn’t not have. Out of curiosity, I checked IUB library and of course, they had these books. Oh well, maybe comparing IUB’s library and Loyola’s isn’t fair for Loyola, but, you know, it still pisses me off that the library doesn’t have books I want. Anyway, I am still 4/10, but I have two days, so I think I am good shape…well, really?

It cost me $22 to send my brother’s birthday gift. Ugh. I bought should bag from Diesel which wasn’t cheap. But, I am thinking that he will buy me nicer gift for my birthday because he is working and making money. He might buy me a big TV! Or not!

Daylight saving time….awful thing. I had to wake up an hour earlier in this morning. I missed Spongebob yesterday because I couldn’t wake up 8am cos it was technically 7am. Daylight saving time doesn’t really go with weather…I think. It was still cold today, but I forced myself to not wear winter coat. I force myself to think it’s spring. When I was in the college, the professor from computer architecture class used to say “Oooh, spring smells like wine!” He was actually pretty cool professor who could communicate and teach! He always alllllwaaaaays carried really ugly waist bag. I still don’t know why he had to carry it. Our class room was only 2 mins from the computer science department. He also talked a lot about himself, and I remember that he took a phone call from his daughter in the class and we thought he was talking to his date or something (he divorced and I think his ex has custody of their daughter). He told us he went to camping with his daughter and ended up with disaster. We all loved him because he was funny and not so tough grader which was really rare among computer science profs at IU. I think I came up the idea and wrote a paper about self-organizing processor. I didn’t think it was possible, but I actually got A for that paper. After I got back the paper, I thought I was so smart, but most of guys got A, so it was just ordinary A.

I had a meeting with the professors in this morning about my practicum. Well, I haven’t found one and I thought it might be a good idea to get some helps. The meeting lasted almost two hours and I got nothing. It was just wasting my time. Now, I got no help, so I gotta find a site by myself. Hmmmmm, I wish myself a very luck!

Ugh. I think I got a cold or something. My nose has been stuffed, and I haven’t been able to smell anything at all in the past week. I thought I was just having seasonal allergy reaction which I always have in this time of the year, but I think I actually got a cold. I don’t feel that well! Sucky!!

Last night, I went to the Mexican restaurant in Evanston with my friends. Well, I had to work from 9am, but I stayed at Priyada & Josh’s house until 4am… Ouch. Priyada, Josh, and Fernando were passed out and Cecilia and I ended up watching the movies, Cube and Something’s Gotta Give. I saw Cube million times on IFC, but I didn’t mind watching it again cos I like that movie. Something’s Gotta Give was painfully long movie, well I felt really long. I didn’t expect to see Diane Keaton naked, so it was kinda disturbing. Also, there were so many old people making out scenes! We were just screaming “Eeeeew, old people making out suck!” Although I got back my apt about 4:30am, I managed to wake up 8am and got to the office on time. Yay me!

I stopped by Park West after I got off from work. I wanna go to DJ Shadow show in this weekend, so I thought maybe I could pick up the tickets. But, the box office was closed (it was 5:30pm…mmmmm), and the tickets seemed to be sold out! Sucky!! Sucky sucky!! I just remember Cartman was saying “sucky sucky, five dolla.” Anyway, I am going to buy Air tickets before it’s sold out!

I am soooooooooo sick of Chicago weather. Why it has to be 30 degree?? Ugh, I don’t understand.

I had a meeting with one of my professors, and it went pretty well. So, I am very happy with that. Since I fought with them, I had been feeling kinda bad about it!

After the meeting, I went to the gym and did the spinning class stuff. Oooh, it was cool, but I think I worked out the area I didn’t wanna work out….if you know what I mean!

Yesterday, Priyada and I were trying to go shopping, but the mall we went was closed….ugh! Stupid Ester! So, we just went back to the house, and I was just hanging out. Priyada told me that Fernando was cooking dinner for them, so I just stayed there until he came over cos I wanted to have free dinner. Fernando brought Flavor Wave from his home. Well, actually Flavor Wave was pretty cool. I hate to admit, but I kinda liked it. We were talking about maybe we should have dinner together every Sunday!

I had last multicultural counseling class yesterday! Yaaaaay!! Last week, the instructor told us that he would give us back all papers (he didn’t give any papers back through the semester) including the research papers we turned in last week. Of course, he was not able to return any of the papers yesterday. And, of course, we were forced to talk about what we learned in the class. Well, I didn’t learn anything from that class, so I just said “well, it was interesting to learn other culture. And I started thinking about my own race more.” Nice work Kenny!!

After I got back from the gym, I went to Sam’s Club to get some foods. I like Sam’s Club, but I hate every time I go there, I buy too much junks. Basically, what I need to buy there are frozen and canned foods. Oh, and protein bars. I was able to not buy any alcohol today, but I bought candy bars…ugh. But, it was cool.

Today was warm and nice. Finally, I started feeling like spring. Yeah, air smells like wine now!

Snickers Marathon (multi-grain crunch one) is super yummy. I got box of snickers bars yesterday and I only had two of them so far. Well, even it is really yum yum yumo, I am trying to not eat at once. Since I went for jogging in this evening and had only salad for dinner, I think I am well deserved to have one! Sometime, I really wish I can just eat whatever I want!

It was so hard to keep awake at the office today. I thought I was gonna bore to death. Dave or Stephanie is usually keeping me company, but Dave’s last day was this Tuesday, and Stephanie didn’t come to work today. I worked with a guy who usually works at different day came in the office, but since I don’t know him, and he doesn’t seem to be that interesting person, I was just working on my homework. Lindsay was telling me that I can do anything I want except falling asleep, but I was actually sleeping! I found out that I can work full-time during the summer, but I am not sure if I wanna work this office as full time… It’s super easy cash, but I need a work that I can be more productive.

I talked to Ryan on the phone last night. I am thinking to visit him after this semester is over. I was also talking about I might make confusedgeek.com t-shirts once again. He told me that I should have my face on the t-shirt….mmmm. He also told me that I should put Bobo (his dog) on the t-shirt....mmmmmmm. I think Ryan would be the only one to buy such t-shirts. I wonder how many people would actually buy if I make t-shirts.

Hmmm, I am deciding if I can have ice cream or not…

Although I have a final on Monday, Priyada and I went shopping today. We started shopping from 10:30am till around 5:00pm. Yeah, serious shopping. We were looking for the suit for Priyada because she is having a job interview this Monday. We went pretty much every single store in the downtown, and we ended up with buying a suit at Express. I think we did pretty good on “suit” hunting. After we were done with shopping, we went to Cesar’s to have some drinks. But, this restaurant does not allow “drink only” customers to sit down regular table (we were asked to sit down on the bar), we just left there cos we didn’t feel comfortable to drink on the bar. We wanted table. Then, we just went to the restaurant near by my house. We ordered a pitcher of margarita and some appetizers. Even though the margarita was kinda strong, I was very fine. But, Priyada wasn’t. When we were walking to Jessica’s bf’s house, Dave, she was totally drunk! Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!! We just stayed at Dave’s place about couple hours and had to leave because Priyada was drunk like a mug. It was cool that I got to see her drunk cos she is the one always take care of me whenever we go out!

Yaaaaay, I am so done with this semester! I had a final this Monday and I think I did alright. I am hoping I can get all A’s for all classes. Hmmmm.

I went to the Air show last night. No, it’s not the air show which lots of planes flying around. The Air! You know the guys from Europe. I already had two tickets and thinking to go to the show with Josh or Priyada cos I know these guys like the Air. But, Josh had to work later and Priyada had evening class, they couldn’t make it to the show. Soooo, I was on the mission of finding someone to go with. Well, I couldn’t find anyone!! Nooooooo!! I kept asking myself “do I really wanna go to the show alone?” Actually, my boss, Ron, likes the Air and showed some interests going to the show. But, I really reeeeaally wasn’t sure going to the show with him. I have already missed two shows (Ken Ishii and DJ Shadow), and I didn’t want to waste my money, I went to the show alone! Oooooh, LOSER!! Well, actually, I am really glad I went to the show because it was so awesome! They played the songs not only from Talkie Walkie, but also from Moon Safari and Virgin Suicide! Ooooooooh!! And they were so cute too. When they were leaving, they bowed to the audience and waving hands. Oh well, I did waste extra ticket, but it was all good! Maybe I should go to the show alone more often cos I really enjoyed it & I have no intention begging someone to come with me! It’s just silly to not go to the show just because no one to go with! Oooooh, geek!

My toilet was supposed to be fixed by today, but my landlord emailed me that it will be tomorrow! Ugh! I am so sick of opening up the tank and flash manually!

I like coffee. I drink coffee every morning. If I don’t drink coffee, I get kinda cranky. So, I was making coffee in this morning as usual. Because I woke up kinda late, I didn’t have time to sit down and sip my coffee. So, I just made coffee and poured into my mug cup. Then, I put my water bottle, apple and protein bar in my bag. It was already 8:40am, so I was running late. I just ran outside and tried to catch the bus. Then, I noticed that I forgot my coffee cup! Nooooooo! I could stop by the coffee shop before work, but I didn’t wanna buy coffee since I already made one in this morning. So, I had coffee free morning, and of course, I was cranky!

I am having interview at Highland Park high school tomorrow. I feel I am the only one hasn’t found practicum site, so I hope I can get it!

By the way, my toilet tank was finally fixed. I am really really excited about my fixed toilet! Now, I don’t have to open up the tank and flash it! Yaaaay!! Also, I had to jiggle the tub even before the plug in the tank was off, but that was also fixed! Yaaaaay!! It really made me happy to experience normal bath room time!

Yesterday, I had an interview at Highland Park High school. I had never been to Highland Park, so I had no idea how rich neighbor it is. The area was just so different from any other communities I have seen. There were lots of nice houses! I think the community isn’t that big, but I saw lots of stores including Saks Fifth Avenue! Oi! I had about 10 minutes interview with the supervisor there, then rest of two hours, I just talked to with students! Students just came in to the Drop In Center and hung out between classes. So, I had chance to talk to at least 10 students there. Since I had no contact with teenagers before, I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to talk about. But, it turned out alright because students kept asking me millions of questions! Especially, when they found out I am from Japan, they were so excited and asked me tons of questions about anime, games, and other Japanese stuff. I was telling them that they should tell the supervisor they liked me, so I get hired! I didn’t really ask them why they come to the center, but I kinda could see why. Anyway, I hope I get a position there.

Laura had a birthday yesterday, so Laura, Kevin, Kelly, Laura’s ex, and I had a dinner at Thai restaurant. I told her she could pick fancy restaurant, but she didn’t pick fancy restaurant! After we ate, we went to Guthrie’s to meet up with other friends. I am not sure how many Guinness I had cos I was kinda drunk, but not too drunk. It is kinda sad when friends from the program hang out, we just keep talking about school. Maybe that’s why I like Priyada & Josh’s house cos I don’t have to talk about school! But, it was fun night.

It is just so nice that I don’t have to study in the weekend. I can do whatever I want. So, I decided to do nothing today. Yay me!

As you may know (or not), I studied computer science and psychology at IUB. I didn’t hate programming, but I didn’t love it. I don’t know why, but I got a strong desire to do some programming today. I just wanted to program something. I wanted to do Java programming, but I realized that I hadn’t installed anything I can work on Java. I used to use emacs with JDEE (java development environment for emacs) to do Java programming. Emacs is one of GNU software, so it is free. I didn’t remember how to install JDEE on emacs, so I just follow the steps on JDEE website. It was sad moment because I installed JDEE many times when I was undergrad, but I didn’t remember how to install! Ugh! Aging! Anyway, after I installed several programs for JDEE, I installed JDEE. Then, I made .emacs file and bash file for Cygwin. I thought I did what I had to do in order to do java programming, but when I tried to compile java file, I got crazy error messages…hmmm. I thought maybe I program wrong, but it was super simple program, indeed it was hello.jave thing! I kinda remembered that I needed to add new environment variables, so I added the variable which is the home directory for JDEE and other stuff. But, still my hello.java wasn’t running right. Hmmmm. Why? Whhhhhhhhhhy?? I was kinda pissed off cos I couldn’t figure out. I tried to compile my program with Cygwin, but it even didn’t run javac at all! I was like “what the fuck is going on!!” Then, I realized that I had to specify the path which j2sdk is in. Duh, of course, how the hell emacs or cygwin knows where compiler is without specifying the path! I was, again, pissed off because it was super stupid mistake! I gotta start working on my programming skill….

I am thinking to upgrade my PC sometime soon. Well, sometime after I get money. My PC isn’t that bad, but it’s not good. I think I wanna buy new cpu, motherboard, and memory. If I can, I wanna buy pen tablet from Wacom. In order to accomplish my goal, I need to make at least $1000! $1000  P4 3.0MHZ & 875P chipset = $350 ~ $400 + 1GB DDR PC3200 = $220 ~ $280 + Intuos2 = $299. I guess I can go for cheaper cpu like AMD ones. But, I hate their tricky CPU naming. I don’t think I really need to buy Intuos2 which is professional pen tablet. But, I started using Illustrator and I really really need pen tablet. There is no way I can trace pictures with mouse! Since I am buying one, I wanna buy best tablet on the market because I am a fancy guy. Well, so I need to buy Intuos2! Anyway, I am going to make $1000 over the summer and satisfy my geekness!!

Today was my first day of summer break. Yaaaaaay!! Well, not really. Because I am a poor poor international student, I need money. So, I decided to work full-time at the enrollment office I have been working at. I worked 9am till 4:15pm today. I was supposed to work until 5pm, but Ron dismissed me!!! Actually, there was nothing to do. I think I was just reading a book whole time I was staying there. It was nice, but it was boring. I really really hope I can get another job which is web support job.

I was so bored at work, so I was sending message to other computers in the office. Have you ever used net send command in MS-DOS? It’s really fun command. People always freak out when they get such messages. I was trying to send prank message to Ron’s computer, but since his computer was connected to different server, I couldn’t find his computer in the network. I don’t know how to send message to outside of network, I couldn’t send it to Ron. Damnit!

I am working tomorrow too. Hmmmm.

Seriously, I was all over the town today. I had to go to the north side of the town in this morning, so I told Lindsay that I wouldn’t be able to get to the office until 1pm. But, before I jumped to the Brown line, I had to close my account at BankOne. New BankOne branch just opened a block from my apartment, so I went in there and asked teller to close my account. Because I opened my account when I was in the college, the lady had to call the BankOne (mm, headquarter or something) and ask how to close my account. I was already running late, but I had to wait my precious 10 mins there. Then, she kept asking me if I am interested in opening new account with BankOne. Well, I am not happy with my bank right now, so I am, indeed, interested in finding new bank. But, it wasn’t right time to hear whole bunch of crap, so I just asked them that I will come back. Ugh. So much for just closing the account!

I had an job interview in this afternoon. I think I did alright. I was just glad that I brought my resume cos they asked me if I had one. Well, I was gonna tell them I did send my resume to them, but I didn’t, of course. I was showing them the websites I have made, but not this one, of course. I am not sure if I will get this job because the sites I showed them were pretty old, about 2-3 years old. I can make much better site right now, of course! They told me that there is another person applying to this job, so I guess I have pretty good shot. But, I am sure he/she must be Indian and have more experience working on website then me! Ugh! Typical!

I was so good to not shop today. I almost went into Diesel to buy the shoulder bag I have wanted to buy. But, I promised myself that I will upgrade my computer before I buy anything! So, I will not buy anything until I save up $1000. This time, I will really really do it!
