Energie and I
This semester is almost over, and I certainly do not feel any sense of accomplishment! I just want this semester to be over and I am looking forward next semester!! I registered developmental psychology class which is offered through Institute of Child Development and I am very very excited taking class from there! I hope the class will be good one.
Although it was snowing like a mug, I went to Marshall Field’s in downtown. I ended up buying new jacket and pair of jeans...again. And they are made by Energie...again! I just love clothes from Energie so much. I think I must like Italian clothe makers. I cannot believe I bought another pair of jeans... Holiday season is very very dangerous time!!
Marc gave me griller for my birthday. He knew I wanted to buy panini maker for a long long time. So, he bought me multiple function griller. It’s really cool grill. Of course, I made panini, and it was delicious!! Oh, and he told me I could take his bread machine too! Well, technically, I am renting his bread maker because he does not use it. So, I keep baking breads since I got back from Chicago. It’s awesome. It must be so much fun to be a bakery guy!

iTunes and I
Although I use iTunes, I have never downloaded any songs from iTunes. But, my ex gave me iTunes gift certificate in my birthday. So, I was checking out the songs to download. Then, I ended up browsing Japanese iTunes site, and well, I downloaded one album I used to listen when I was a teenager!! I couldn’t use certificate because of obvious reason though! I kinda tried to use U.S. certificate on Japanese iTunes store, but they didn’t like it! Anyway, it’s kinda nice to listen to old songs even though they are horrible j-pop!
I am not doing well on school works. I got F on my stats test. Yeah F. I have (had!) never got F in my entire life! It’s suck. But, the test is only 10% of the grade, so I think I can still get B for this class considering I am doing fairly well on other assignments.
I was gonna buy long underwear at Target today. But, they were kinda expensive!! So, I didn’t buy it! I was looking for some Jewish stuff there, but I couldn’t find anything. I thought it would be fun to decorate my office with Hanukah stuff since Marc is a Jew boy. Apparently, there is no demand for Hanukah goods in St. Louis Park, MN!

Falling and I
I fell couple days ago. It was very stupid. I was rushing to the bus stop even though the nearest bus stop was 1 min from my apt. The sidewalk was frozen, and it was like Kenny on the ice situation. I didn’t wanna fall, but I couldn’t help it. So, I fell, but my reaction time was pretty quick and I managed to not fall entirely. However, I hurt my right shoulder which has been still hurting big time. Every time I try to lift something, my right shoulder complains with massive pain. So annoying. I kinda though about going to the clinic, but I do not feel like going, so I am just being in pain. I hate pain!
I was playing online games with Marc last night. I just picked couple games from MSN messenger site. When we were playing minesweeper, Marc was winning, so I just closed the game window because I hate losing. Then, we started playing Mah-jan tiles game. Of course, I closed the game window again because there was no top tile! I was sooooo pissed and upset! It was just game, but I just hate losing without reasons! Losing sucks!!!

Noodle Soup and I
I love noodle soup. I think it’s Asian thing. I can eat noodle soup every single day. When I was still living in Japan, I used to eat noodle soup a lot. We have tons of noodle soup restaurants and tons of “instant” noodle soup. What you have to do is just pour boiled water and wait for three minutes! Deliciousness. I especially loved pork broth based noodle soup. Fukuoka is famous for this kind of noodle soup. It’s super rich and kinda smelly, but soooo delicious. Too bad I don’t eat any kind of meats anymore! So why am taking about noodle soup? Well, because I had one for dinner!!
My right shoulder is still hurting. I think the pain is getting worse! I don’t wanna be dramatic about it, but well, every time I try to lift my right arm, it hurts. So, I think it’s not good sign at all! I might go to see a doctor if I feel like it!
I really need mp3 player. I am surprised by myself I still don’t have one.

Christmas songs and I
When I think about Christmas song, red nose reindeer comes up in my mind. But, obviously, this is not the only Christmas song. In this afternoon, Russ and I had a little conversation over Christmas songs in our office. He was looking for some Christmas songs, so he can play these songs with his guitar for holiday (ouch). One song we discussed was “there is no place like home for the holidays” which I thought kinda stupid song. Why the fuck is the guy from Tennessee looking for Pennsylvania and homemade pumpkin pie? It just doesn’t make sense to me. Another song we talked about was “Grandma Got Over by a Reindeer.” I couldn’t believe when I read lyrics! It’s awful song!! Grandma die on Christmas Eve, and apparently she had too much eggnog and ran over by reindeer!!! And Grandpa was just drinking beers, watching games, and playing cards even though his wife just died! Disturbingly, what this family only concerned about was if they should take their grandma’s gift back! Ass holes!! Russ told me the song is supposed to be humorous. But I do not see any humors in this song. It’s really really awful song!!

Emergency and I
Minneapolis is very strange city. It has snow emergency system. When we have lots of snow, the city declare snow emergency, and street parking gets restricted. Well, which make sense streets should clear up for snow plow. But, thing is that you can still park your car on one side of the street. And, next day, you need to park other side of street in order to avoid getting towed your car. I think this alternating street parking rule is so confusing. Chicago doesn’t have that kinda rule even though the city does have lots of snow in the winter. Now, I have to move my car to other side of street tomorrow morning by 8am... Stupid city ordinance!!
I had to give a presentation in biomechanics class today, and it went horribly. I think it was one of the worst presentations I ever gave. One thing pisses me off about this class is that 4 out of 7 students are from physical therapy program. And they are 3rd or 4th year grad students. So, they are far advance than me or other two kids from Kinesiology cos we are so first year. Since I got C on mid-term, I must get A on both paper and presentation. But, well, I am really not sure if I can get B or better in this class. My first semester as PhD student has been super suck!

Raise and I
I really think the caretaker guy for my apt is stupid. He was fucking vacuuming the hallway 9pm on Sunday night! Good thing he started vacuuming after I finished watching Family Guy and American Dad!
I tried to make Brioche last night. So, I was checking out the recipe from the book Marc gave me for my birthday. I did follow the recipe, but my dough did not rise at all. I mean non! Zero! What the hack! I was so upset, so I Just left the dough on the counter and went to the bed. When I checked out the dough, it was smaller than the night before!! How did this happen!? What the fuck yeasts were doing?? Aren’t they supposed to raise dough? Were they dead or what!! By the way, I am not sure what the difference between “raise” and “rise.” So, dough does rise, but does not raise. Yeasts do raise, but do not rise? English is so hard. Anyway, I made different kind of bread today. Well, it did rise, but too much. When I finished baking, the bread was huge! I mean really really huge!! I mean it was huge enough to make me upset when I checked the oven! But, it was delicious. Yay!
I was playing Dragon Quest VIII all day today, and my part kept dying!! As you might know, I am a cheap guy. So I have been holding to buy new armors and weapons for a while, so I can save up money and buy nice ones. So, poor my guys are still using sucky equipments and taking lots of lots of pains from the enemies. I feel kinda bad, but oh well, they can take it cos they are chosen ones! Psyche up and save the world!!

First and I
I was very very excited when I saw my grade for statistics class. Since I got F on the second test, I kept thinking I might get C on this class that means I will be going to be a subject of “advisory meeting.” But, I ended up getting B+! Not only just B, it came with plus! Tee-hee!! I was sooo relived! Now, I just need to worry about a grade for the advance biomechanics class! Well, really.
Today was the last day of school. Of course, no one was on campus. But, for some reasons, I had three meetings + 1... So, I guess I had four meetings. I actually changed the class schedule for next semester after talking with my advisor. I wanted to reduce some school work because I am hoping to start internship (again) from next semester. But, my schedule change did not change anything!! I dropped one class and added another!
I am just glad that I was able to finish my first semester at UMN. Too bad I have to take another stats class in next semester!
