Olympic and I
So, the U.S. team is supposed to be the best team ever (according to NBC). What’s up with that? Do people watch winter Olympics?? I usually don’t. I watch snowboarding or ski jump or down hill racing if they are on. Well, I guess I am not really into Olympics that much. I assume I should be into figure skating, but I actually hate it. I think it’s so boring cos I have no idea how judges score the performance, and I hate all skaters keep smiling during their performance! I told Russ about how I feel about winter Olympic, and he was furious. He even went to the next-door and asked people if they will watch the Olympic. Ugh. Obviously, people love winter Olympic! Eh!
My ceiling is finally getting fixed. I am so glad. But, painters left huge buckets of paint in my room. They better come back tomorrow!!

Feel and I
I have been frustrated about switching to Mac in the past couple days. The biggest issue was that importing MS Outlook (.pst file) to Entourage. I tried Mail which comes with OSX, but I didn't like it. It was too simple, and I almost erased all emails in IMAP account because I didn't know if I move emails in inbox will remove them from IMAP server! I liked Entourage better because it’s a lot like Outlook (of course, MS makes both!). However, I don't know why, but Entourage does not let you import Outlook file at all! Well, you can import file in Outlook 2001 for Mac to Entourage, but not PC to Mac. I checked Apple website, but Apple wasn't really clear about how to import email from PC to Mac! I could buy the shareware to do that, but I did not want to pay money since I already spent $1500 to buy iMac. The only thing I could do was that using Thunder Bird to import emails. What I had to do was that import Outlook file to Thunder Bird (on PC), then, import this file to Entourage. It sounds easy enough, but if you have multiple folders, it gets very tedious because Thunder Bird converts each Outlook folder as a single file. That means, if you have 20 folders in Outlook, you have to drag and drop twenty times in order to import these folders to Entourage! Stupid MS!
Although most of third party software are not universal software, they are still running pretty good on Rosetta. Since my PC is more than 5 years old (P4 1.5Mz), I really don't feel glitch when I run non-universal software such as Office, Firefox, Dreamweaver, etc etc. I was impressed how fast universal software (iTunes, Safari, well, basically Apple’s software) runs super fast!
Huge two buckets of paintings are still sitting on the floor... Should I throw them away or what!!

Not So Super and I
Well, I didn't watch Super Bowl today. I am not into NFL that much, but I usually do watch Super Bowl because I don't hate NFL! There were couple reasons I didn't watch Super Bowl. First, I don't have a cable. I only get to watch NBC, CBS, and Fox. No ABC. No Lost. No Desperate House Wives. No Bachelor. Yes, it sucks. Second, I didn’t realize this is Super Bowl weekend. I was really busy last week, and I couldn't really pay attention to anything except schoolwork. I could go out or go to friend’s house or somewhere I can watch Super Bowl, but it was kinda too late because I remembered it in this morning! I guess I am happy that Pittsburgh won because I kinda like QB guy, Ben Roethlisberger. Well, of course, he is no Tom Brady though! It is kinda scaray both Ben Roethlisberger and the head coach of the team look so redneck! I wouldn't be surprised if I see them at the redneck bar!
I realized that I did not go outside over the weekend. It was cold, and I had enough foods and alcohol in my apt, so there was no reason to go out. Oh wait, I ran out of TP! Now I gotta use regular Kleenex! No good!

Rise and I
I am so tired of making bread. In this past couple days, I have been trying to bake whole wheat bread with lovely bread machine I stole from Marc. However, for some reasons, all dough I made did not rise at all. Well, they did rise kinda of, but they did not rise enough. I was so pissed because I made two batches, and both batches had to go to the trash! Making bread sux!
Marc gave me iPod for Valentine’s thing. Well, actually, he bought one for himself too. So, I was assuming that since he bought one for himself, he kinda had to buy one for me in order to justify his spending. I have been wondering that why Americans (especially, boys) have to give gifts to their girlfriends (or boyfriends...maybe!) on Valentine’s Day. Where does Valentine’s Day come from? In Japan, on Valentine’s Day, girls give out chocolates (with looove) to their boyfriends or boys whom they have crash on. In addition, girls give “sympathy” or well, “pity” chocolates to their male acquaintances. It is very very humiliating and traumatic for boys if they don't get any chocolate (including pity ones) on Valentine’s Day. As you can imagine, Valentine’s Day is an intense day for boys (especially in high school!). Number of chocolates received directly corresponds to the popularity. That means, in high school, if you are popular guy, it is not unusual that you will receive more than 20 chocolates. However, sadly, it is not uncommon that you will not receive any chocolates except from your mom. Anyway, Valentine’s Day is very delicious day in Japan!

Things I hate and I
It is cold. Yesterday wasn't bad, but today, it was cold. I was sooo pissed when I was walking on campus because it was really cold. Of course, despite of cold weather, I was sweating when I got to the class! What the fuck! So, I was drinking water to cool myself down, but, it just made me want to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes! I hate my stupid sweatiness!!
I really didn't want to go to the gym on Valentines day because only losers go to the gym on Valentines day! But, I had to go because I decided to run 20 miles in this week. Of course, there were only handful people at the gym, and they were fat, or unattractive, or very old. Ugh! Oh well, I guess I was the loser after all!! Yikes!
Surprisingly, I have been watching Olympic. It’s actually exciting! But, I do not understand how NBC put games together. For example, first 30mins is figure skating then, jump to snowboarding for a bit, then, go back to figure skating, then go to speed skating, then, go to snowboarding and then, go back to figure skating again. I just don't get it. Russ told me if I am watching Olympic in live, that’s how they do it and maybe NBC wants to make viewers feel like they are watching these games on live. But, we all know the fucking results! I just wanna watch snowboarding!! It’s almost I am forced to watch other games with lots of lots of ads! Too many and too long ads between games!! Every 5 mins, there are 2 mins long ads! Ugh!
Speaking of TV ads, I absolutely hate Verizon’s V-cast ad. I think the ads are so stupid! Downloading music into your cell phone, and everything is going to be okay eh? Do you really want to pay and download music into your cell phone?? I really really do not think so! If I have a girlfriend (or boyfriend) who is taking fucking long time to try out the clothes because she (or he!) is downloading music from V-cast, so she (or he!) can dance along with the song, well, I will break up with her (or him) immediately!!

20 miles and I
Last weekend, I bought new pair of running shoes. I looked up the nearby running specialty store from the internet and went to the one in St. Louis Park. Well, the guy helped me out at the store was really nice (which I was expected), and I would love to get a pair there. But, they didn't have my size. Since I have freakishly wide feet, most of regular shoes do not fit. If I am buying casual shoes, that wouldn’t be a problem because I always buy bigger size. But, for my running shoes, I cannot really buy larger size which fit to my feet width, but not feet length. I usually buy 11-inch 4E shoes and, usually, most of the regular stores do not carry 4E shoes I am looking for. I so wanted to buy Asics’ or Mizuno’s running shoes because they are Japanese shoes! But, of course, the store I went to did not have Asics pairs that fit my freaking wide feet. I ended up going to NB store because they always have wider shoes in stock. I didn't wanna buy NB shoes because my old pairs were NB, and I wanted something new. I do like NB, but I think NB shoes are kinda over priced. Well, I support domestic productions and stuff, so I guess better than buying Nike shoes. The guy helped me at NB store was very dislikable. I could tell he was so not runner and did not know what he was talking about. I asked him I was looking for motion control shoes and I also told him I am kinda distance runner. I tried to be specific as I could, so even he was sucky sale assistant, he would be able to pick couple pairs for me. But, he was really sucky sales man. He was picking up shoes that have cushioning support, but of course, most of NB shoes do have that. Therefore, he ended up showing me 5 – 6 pairs! I was thinking, “um, well, so why are you showing me 5 pairs of shoes again?? Did you even hear what I told you??” I was kinda pissed, but, I picked one pair anyway. Annoyingly, the pair I picked was kinda tight even though he brought me my size. So, I told him they were kinda tight. He seemed to be obviously annoyed, but of course, I didn't care. I picked another pair, so he had to go back and get my size which I enjoyed wachting it. Although his lack of enthusiasm, I bought NB shoes which cost me $120! I was super nice and thanked him in super ungenuine manner, so he knew I was pissed.
I decided to run 20 miles weekly because I paid $120 for my new running shoes. I started from last week, but I could only run 19 miles! I think the part of reason is that Bally closes at 10pm on Friday!! When I get to the gym on Friday night, it was 9:30pm, and there was no time for me to run. I was actually very upset because I planned out my running schedule and I absolutely hate when my plan doesn't work. I was supposed to run 4 miles on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Then, run 8 miles on Saturday. Well, it didn't happen like I planed. I did run 4 miles on Tuesday and Wednesday, but I was too tired to run on Thursday. So, I was thinking “okay, run 4 miles Friday and 8 miles Saturday.” But, no Friday run. Fortunately, I did run 4 miles last Sunday, so I didn't really have to run Friday, but I really didn't wanna count last Sunday as the part of my “let’s run 20 miles a week” plan. I did run on Saturday, but I could only run 7 miles. I just burned out after running an hour on the treadmill! Also, the next girl running was smelly!! Well, she wasn't smelling bad, it was her perfume. I just do not understand why she had to wear perfume to the gym. Okay, I understand if it was weekday because people come to the gym after their work. But, it was Saturday around 2pm!! Ugh! Was she trying to get some guys or what! Also, I hate people just walking on treadmill! If you just want to walk, walk on the track or something. From my experience (well, frustration), treadmill female walkers tend to bring magazine or something to read, a bottle of water, and some kind of music device(ipod, walkman, etc). Also, they often bring their bags, sometime purses or/and jackets and just throw them down on the floor. Their outfits are very questionable too. I cannot help thinking “how the hell are you going to work out with dressing like that!!” During their workout (or just walk!), they sip their water every one minute pretending they are working out hard. Only thing I can say about treadmill male walkers is that they tend to be old and fat, or just too fat to run. Well, but it’s not really true because many fat people do run, and some of them run pretty well, well enough to make me think “so why are you fat??” Anyway, my point here is that don’t walk on the treadmill (and don't wear perfume!)

Retrospective and I
Last month, I pre-ordered the Saint Seiya DVD set. Saint Seiya was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid (along Dragon Ball). I was soooo excited when I received the DVDs. It was last Monday and I had so many readings to do, but I spent Monday night and Tuesday night watching Saint Seiya. The DVD set contains 30 episodes, so of course, I did not finish watching all of them. I can still remember the opening song, and it was so awesome to hear it again. But, it wasn't the same. After I watched about 10 episodes, I was like “what the fuck is this show!?” I couldn't believe I was addicted to this show! The plot was super cheesy, and some episodes were horrible. Main characters (who were 13 years old boys) kept saying, “We fight for love and justice!” which I did not recall from my old memory. Well, I kinda do, but I didn't think the plot was this cheesy!! Also, this show is soooooo violent! Although they are fighting for the love and justice, 13 years olds should not kill people! In addition, they love bleeding! 13 years old should not bleed this much!! I must say this show is easily PG13 or maybe more! Now, I guess I am a living proof that TV violence does not make a kid violent! It was nice to watch Saint Seiya again, and I am kinda hoping for next release of DVD set because after these 30 episodes, the story goes into the battles with gold saints in the Sanctuary to save Ms. Saori and defeat Pope! Good thing the box set vol.2 comes out pretty soon!
I did run 20 miles in the last week. I am very pleased!
