I like the Postal Service. I think they are pretty good. Well, I like Death Cab For Cutie, so no wonder I like The Postal Service. Several weeks ago, I bought the album from Electric President. The band sounds very very similar to the Postal Service. Well, maybe that’s why I bought their CD. Then, today, I was browsing iTunes store and noticed that there are so many artists sound like the Postal Service. There is nothing wrong with it, but it just annoys me. It seems the genre “electric” has to sound like the Postal Service, and all reviewers give tons of stars to the bands (or artists) sound like the Postal Service. I mean, well, it’s cool sounds and I do like it. But, I wonder what will sound like for these bands’ 2nd albums. Ugh.

I had to reading tons of articles about sex differentiation for the child psy class. There are several research supported theories about the development sex differentiation (sex identity, sexual orientation, etc). Most of the readings were based on biological factors, and they are all about androgen! Did you know if you don’t get exposed to enough androgen (well, when you are fetus), you could develop female like genitalia! Well, of course, I am talking about male fetus. But, good thing is that you can catch up during puberty! Also, girls can develop male like genitalia when they are exposed to too much androgen when they are fetus! I thought that would suck as hell because you think you are girl cos you don't have penis, and once you hit the puberty, the penis comes out of nowhere! Or, you thought you are boy cos you have penis like object sticking out, but you start menstruating! Yikes! I do like discussing this issue because this is soooo an issue of nature vs. nurture.

I am snacking too much. No more Doritos!!

There are several people working at my lab. As you might recall, I found out there is no French fries (French toast, French dip etc etc) in France from them. But, I had a one more myth I had to resolve; French people only take a shower once a week (or month!). When I went to the lunch with them today, one of them asked me if I thought French people don’t take a shower often. So, I told her that that was exactly I thought. And, I told her that since French people don't take a shower, that’s why they have good perfumes over France. Well, it tuned out that’s not true. She told me they do take a shower every other day. Every other day? Hmmm. I do take a shower twice a day! Since I wanted to get to the bottom of this myth, I asked her that I didn't think taking a shower every other day is not enough. Her reply was that taking shower every day is not good for our skin. Eeeh. I asked her if she takes a shower after workout. She said, “Of course!!” Ugh. So, I guess French people do take a shower!

For some reasons, I cannot stop watching American Idol! I was super into thee first season of American idol. But after that, I didn't watch the show at all. Now, I cannot help watching it! I am actually looking for Tuesday to come! My guess is that Kinnik, Melissa, Will, and Kevin will be out! Although I really really want Gedeon to be voted off, probably he will be around for a while. I just do not like that guy! His smile creeps me out! Yuck!

I cannot wait this week to be over!

We had a lot of snow in this morning. Seriously, a lot! Marc called me yesterday telling me that it is going to snow like a mug in Minneapolis over night. I wasn't really listening to him because last Friday, it was almost 60F, and I even went jogging outside! Then, yesterday, it was fine. I even went IKEA to get some dinner table and new desk. When I woke up in this morning, I wasn't sure even if it was snowing last night because it looked fine outside. I had to go to the lab even though today was the first day of spring break! Then, I realized it might be difficult to get to the school because my car was literally buried in snow. It took me good 10 ~ 20 minutes to salvage my car from snow. I had to change my clothes because I was all wet after digging snow. It was kinda scary to drive to the school because it was still snowing and the road was awful. I saw many cars and buses were trapped in snow on the way to school. Uuuuugh, I am glad I wasn't that car! It was funny that when I got to the lab, there were actually already people working! Of course, I was bitching about all my ordeal to get to the school, but of course, none of them were actually listening! I came to realize that I am talkative guy (a.k.a. loud annoying guy). I think I didn't know it that’s because I was surrounded by more talkative lovely people until I came to Minnesota. People don't really talk much here! I think I am the noisy loud weird Japanese guy who often plays Nintendo DS (nintendogs of course) in his office. I don't understand why people don't appreciate how fantastic game Nintendogs is! Anyway, I suppose I can try to keep my mouse shut!

I bought this year’s Lollapalooza tickets yesterday. Like last year, it will be held at the Grant Park in Chicago. I really enjoyed the last year’s show even though I did not go to second day (because it was really really hot, near record high hot!!!). This year, the show will be three days, and well, ticket price went up to $130!! But I think it’s pretty good deal cosdeing you get to see Red Hot Chili Peppers, Death Cab for Cutie, Flaming Lips, Kanye West, Wilco, Sonic Youth, and, of course, Matisyahu! Just checking out those bands individually would easily cost $130 or up! I think lineup is much much better than last year. I really cannot wait!

Today was my last day of spring break, and I feel awful. I did nothing. I absolutely did nothing. Marc stayed here for five days, so it was fun. We checked out couple museums, and I am glad we did because if he weren’t here, I never ever went to those museums. When we went to Walker Art Center, I was very very confused. Their collections were all contemporary, and they were all “???” kinda arts. Building was cool, but easy to get lost. But, I liked it because it has a bar!

March madness!! I was very very upset that U-Conn lost yesterday. When the game went to overtime, I thought U-Conn would win, but nooooooo. Sucky! I was already upset with Duke lost over LSU. My bracket for the NCAA is so screwed up because I put Duke and U-Conn as final two! Sucks!

March is also recruitment time for the school. Many candidates are visiting the campus, and our lab is having one right now. I like having PhD candidate visiting our lab because we get free dinner at fancy restaurant! We took him for dinner in this evening, and we did choose kinda fancy restaurant. Well, we went to fondue restaurant in downtown. I kinda like fondue, but I was super hungry, so it was very frustrating to eat one piece of vegetable at every one dip! I was so mood for some Italians, but well, it didn't happen! Now, I am hungry again!
