Free sick and I

I have been not so feeling well since I got back from France. The day after I got flu shot last week, I was pretty sick. Eh. Then, I got feel better, and then, now I am sick again. I feel so stupid getting sick at this point because I have so many things to do! It’s end of semester! I have papers to write! I have abstract to submit! I have course websites to request! I have beers to drink! Well, maybe I can drink beer after the semester is over.

I was successfully able to become 30 years old. It was painful, but it wasn’t as bad as I was expected. I feel pretty old and crappy. When I was teenager, I was so sure I would die at age of 23. Well, when I was 10 years old, I was sooooo sure I would die at age of 17. So, now, I am 30 years old. I have decided that I will die at age of 150. I wanna become the oldest person in the world! Since there is no sign of me dying, I will live! If you think about it, I still have 120 years to live. That makes me feel good, but same time, makes me feel ill. I am too young to play video games (I suppose), but I am too young to get senior discount! Well, I guess I have only 30 years to go. People should give me double senior discount when I reach 90 years old.

Change of Heart and I

I am still freaking sick! Seriously, this is getting old. I skipped everything last Wednesday, so I could get better, and I think I did. Then, Thursday, when I got back from the class, our lab was flooded with water! There was some repair work going on in our building, and I think they screwed up water pipe stuff. Fortunately, research equipments we have in the lab did not get damaged. Eh. But, since the lab is carpeted, it takes several days to dry everything up. So, our lab was closed until further notice! Well, I was still working in the lab though!

Then, Friday, I was in the RCR (Responsible Conduct of Research) training in the morning and went to the practicum in the afternoon. The RCR training was well, long and kinda painful. But, they had refreshment including bagels, donuts, coffee, etc etc. That was great! I kinda noticed that I wasn’t feeling that great after I got back home, but I wasn’t sure if I was tired or I was sick, so I just went to the bed! And, when I woke up in Saturday morning, I felt violently ill! I thought if I took shower, it would make me feel good, but well, it made me feel worse! So, if you are sick, I suggest that you wouldn’t take a shower because it will make you sicker! I need to turn in the paper by tomorrow, so I was working on the paper over the weekend. My paper is kinda crappy, but I am finishing up. Phew... When I read back my paper, I realized my paper is nothing like the topic I proposed to the professor! I was supposed to write about the support surface and visual guided action or something like that, but now, it’s just about visual guided action! Where the support surface go?? I am so not feeling searching for articles right now, so I am just gonna go with what I have! Eh! Now, I have one more paper to go!

Easy Drug and I

After agonizing three months, I was finally able to take my car to the body shop. My car has been scraped by some stupid babysitter in Chicago, and since she wasn’t the owner of the car, it went kinda ugly and super slow process to repair my car. But, it’s all over now (for now)! My car will be fixed up by the end of this week or by early next week! The insurance company even rent a car for me. But, the car I got was Chevrolet Cobalt... Well, hmmm. You know, I am a Japanese, and I do not drive American cars! And it’s Chevrolet Cobalt! I mean Chevrolet! And it’s Cobalt!! Well, at least, it wasn’t Dodge Neon...

I was still feeling not so well, so I went to the health center on campus. When the doctor came in, I noticed she was wearing gigantic mask. I almost asked her if she just got back from the construction site which using some kinda of toxic spray paint! According to her, she has been sick, and the mask is for patients, not for her. Well. Okay Doc. She was telling me that all detail how she got sick, and it’s better to have sick doctor than no doctor. Then, I explained what was wrong with me for about a minute. Eh, if I think back, I believe her sad getting sick story was longer than my version. Weird. Anyway, after 5 minutes of chit-chatting, she prescribed me antibiotic. At least she did listen to my lung... Oh wait, actually, she forgot her stethoscope, and she had to go back wherever she left her stethoscope! I was like “Are you fucking joking?” Of course, I didn't say it, I just made a “oh, you are so funny, doctor!” smile. When I was leaving, she said “take care!” So, I said back to her, “you take care! (smile)”
