Tactics and I

I had my 31st birthday last Tuesday which was pretty fucked up. Basically, I was fed lot of alcohol by my nice friends. Then, we played Wii, and I broke my nice wine glass! Damnit!

Seb gave me Assassin’s Creed (PS3) and Final Fantasy (PSP) as birthday gifts. He told me he wasn’t sure if I wanted to get Final Fantasy or Final Fantasy Tactics. I told him that FFT is one of my favorite games, I spend so much time playing that game when I was in high school. Then, he said that we should exchange the game. So, that’s what we did! It was soooooo awesome to play FFT on PSP. I mean I almost cried just listening the opening music! The sound for this game is just fucking awesome. PSP version of FFT has cut scenes which is cel-shaded animation, and they look just awesome. Game play is still the same, and it’s awesome! So, if you have PSP and haven’t picked up this game, you should go out and get it right now!

Oh, AC is pretty awesome too. But, well, the game is kinda buggy…

Slow and I

Today wasn’t really good day for me. Well, my day started off pretty good. I woke up, poo a lot, made coffee, and ate Kashi cereal. I was in pretty good mood till I missed fucking bus! It really really sucks to miss bus. I could drive to the school, but I so didn’t wanna drive because I already did it yesterday (yes, I missed bus yesterday too!). It’s just something about missing bus. It’s like you have all ingredients to make corn chowder, but you forgot to buy corn (yes, this happened to me last week!). It’s like you are ready to brush your teeth and forgot to charge your power toothbrush! It put me really really bad mood, so I just went back to my apt. I was pretty upset because I made a sandwich for lunch, and I also packed soda so I wouldn’t have to buy it! Eh, anyway, as soon as I got back, I ate my sandwich! I needed to work on my paper, so I tried to recalibrate my mindset, and I started reading couple articles. It actually worked well, and I started writing paper. Well, I started, but so far I only got less than half page. Why! I know what I wanna write, but it is soooooooooo fucking hard to write! What I wanna write is that computational approach to motor control. This shouldn’t be that hard (I hope)! I know the material! I wanna compare and contrast this approach to ecological approach. This should be easy too because this is one of the hottest topics in the motor control! But, no! I guess I don’t know how to write! Sucky! I am pretty sure I will end up playing FFT.

Five Stages and I

It was around 9pm. It was Monday night. It was freezing cold. I went outside. I unlocked my car. I inserted a key into the ignition. I was ready. Then, my car didn’t start. I must say, I felt like shit. My battery was dead. Well, it was not dead because it had enough power to unlock my car from my trusty remote. It had enough power to turn my lights and radio! Within 20 minutes, I experienced all emotional journey. Stage 1: denial. I rejected the idea my battery was dead and thought, “this cannot happen to my RAV4 because it’s Japanese car!!! My car is so different from crappy American cars!!!” Then, stage 2: anger. After several unsuccessful attempts to start my car, I was pissed. I was so pissed, “What the hell!! Why this has to happen right now! Why me! I am a great guy. I recycle all the time!! And c’mon! I don’t eat meat!!” After realizing pissing off didn’t really help the situation, Stage 3: bargaining. I prayed. I asked god for help, “oh, please. Just let me start my car! Just one more time! I will be extra careful and I will drive my car everyday (I left my car over the weekend even though it was super ultra cold)! I will even take my car for check-up!!” But, I realized I don’t really believe in god. So, Stage 4: depression, “My car is dead. There is nothing I can do. My pillow will get wet from all my tears tonight!!” But, of course, I had no time to depress. Final stage: acceptance, “Alright, I gotta do something to help my gummpy (my car’s name…). I think I just need a jump. It will be ok. Let’s call Marc.” So, I called Marc, and well, he wasn’t much of help. Then, I called couple friends, but they didn't have jump cable. Then, I kinda gave up for that night. Well, I got a jump today, and my car is fine. I am taking my car for check-up tomorrow, and I have a strong feeling the car battery needs to be replaced. But, that’s ok because I called my dad, and I have my dad’s permission to use his credit card to buy new car battery! Tee-hee!

Grading and I

I was grading papers all evening! It is really amazing that most of students do not know how to use proper APA style format, and students use too many quote! Some students quoted entire paragraph and didn’t cite at all! So plagiarism! I hope they know plagiarism is automatic “F.” It is fun to read well written papers, but it is soooo painful to read sucky papers. I am pretty sure my papers were sucky when I was undergrad… Eh. I still have 30 papers to grade…
